On the IRC revalidation form this year you will see questions about adjustable mast foot and/or forestay. The questions relate to whether the boat has a system fitted that is capable of adjusting the mast foot or forestay while racing, such as a built-in mast jack, as follows:

Q3 Read IRC Rule 21.1.6(b) before answering the following TWO questions:

Mast Foot: Is your boat fitted with or carrying on board systems to adjust the mast foot while racing?
Enter response: (1) No (2) Yes, but will never be used while racing (3) Yes, used while racing

Forestay: Is your boat fitted with or carrying on board systems to adjust the forestay while racing?
Enter response: (1) No (2) Yes, but will never be used while racing (3) Yes, used while racing

The RRS definition of racing applies, ie. from the preparatory signal until the end of the race. It therefore does not refer to being able to make adjustment between races.

When answering the questions it requires you to select one of the three optional answers, rather than just Yes or No.
