French victorious at BDCC 2016

After a sensational week of racing, that included eight inshores, one 24 hour overnight offshore race and a round the Isle of Wight race held in 20-25 knots and brilliant sunshine, one race was held but ultimately abandoned on the final day of the Brewin Dolphin Commodores' Cup, the Royal Ocean Racing Club's biennial flagship event for three boat teams with Corinthian crews. As a result, yesterday's scores stand, with France Blue claiming victory in this Brewin Dolphin Commodores' Cup on 160 points, 35.5 ahead of Flanders North Sea.

Brewin Dolphin Commodore's Cup action

The Brewin Dolphin Commodores' Cup kicks off on Friday 22 July with Equipment Inspection by RORC and UNCL measurers.

Start Up helps put Club on the IRC map

The Royal Dart Yacht Club (RDYC) is one of nine clubs around the UK who are using the RORC Rating Office’s Start Up scheme to encourage members to race their boats using the International Rating Rule (IRC) in 2016, and is now looking forward to a bumper number of RDYC members entering the IRC classes in Dartmouth Royal Regatta Sailing Week in August.

In 2015 only one boat from the RDYC entered the regatta under IRC and only three boats in the club held IRC certificates. Fast forward to July 2016 and the Club now has over 30 IRC rated boats and already six of those have entered Dartmouth Week in the IRC Classes.
