Safety & Stability

The RORC Rating Office has many years of experience with yacht safety and stability and the team sit on several national and international working group and committees to ensure continued yacht safety at sea. The RORC Rating Office team work with the RORC Race Team on development of the World Sailing Offshore Special Regulations for RORC and for World Sailing committees.

Race Organisers

We can assist race organisers in stability screening of yachts using the SSS screening method or up to date ISO 12217 STIX. We hold stability information records for many yacht designs.

Owners

We can assist owners in obtaining a yacht’s stability information for offshore racing. While we do not offer full stability calculations service, we can point you in the right direction to get the necessary information. This is available to IRC certificate holders as part of the normal Rating Office service to IRC owners.

If you cannot find the information you are seeking on this website or on the IRC website the Rating Office team is always ready to help, please contact us.
